Hurricane Matthew and Irma caused a loss of high ground on the Halifax River in Volusia County. The loss of land is costly to property values and assets and detrimental to the environment. Bulkheads, seawalls and retaining walls are few methods that can be employed to minimize these losses. If site considerations won't allow these methods, we can build revetments using stabilization cloth and backfill, together with coquina rock rip/rap.
All of our docks and walkways are constructed with marine pressure treated lumber, marine pilings and stainless steel fasteners. We have the capability to drive marine piles using hydraulic rams and hammers, along with construction techniques the minimize environmental impacts. We work with engineers and permitting offices to design and construct the best configuration within Florida Department of Environmental Protection and Volusia County permitting guidelines.
